Ingredients

• 1/2 cup warm water
• 2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
• 1 tray ice cubes
• 1/2 (5 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk, divided
• 1/2 cup milk
• 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup

Directions

1. In a small bowl, stir together the water and instant coffee. In a blender, combine ice cubes, coffee mixture, milk, sweetened condensed milk and chocolate syrup. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.

Interracial Couples of 2010

So I love Bossip and they did a post a while ago about interracial couples that you may or may not know about. I was surprised at who was on the list and it made me wonder as well. Is interracial dating as big of an issue as it use to be? Part of me feels like it is still an issue. But it does warm my heart to see two people come together despite archaic and ignorant beliefs.


If I had to vote for the cutest couple out of this list of women, I would say Zoe Saldana and her beau make a beautiful match. However I love them all. Thoughts?

Pro- Lifers Upset MTV's 16 and Pregnant 'Abortion Show'

A report from the New York Post says, the latest episode of MTV's 16 and Pregnant has pro-lifers up in arms. The show has been accused of glamorizing teen pregnancy.

The latest episode followed a Florida resident Markai Durham on her journey through her pregnancy. Durham was seen last month on show when she discovered that she was expecting again.

MTV has forbidden Durham from doing any interviews. The episode follows Durham's decision to terminate her pregnancy. The show aired at 11:30 p.m. MTV did not make the show available to the media before it airs.

From the New York Post:

Still, in social media postings, the 19-year-old Florida girl has been preparing fans for the intense drama.

"I get sad from time to time thinking about it but then everything happens for a reason," she wrote. "God gave me 3 paths to take abortion, adoption, or raising this baby along with another.

"I chose this path and I think about how stressing things would have been if I haven't made the one I've made."

Markai, who gave birth to daughter Za'karia in October 2009, has been seeing a therapist to cope with her feelings, and spent the past week answering questions about her decision on Formspring.com, where other "16 and Pregnant" alums connect with their fans.

In a posting Christmas Eve, the teen, who admits that, in the past, she abused drugs and slept with "different men every other night," says she and boyfriend James were using birth control when the second pregnancy occurred.

Jill Stanek a pro-life blogger, argues that MTV has been presenting a one sided message about the issue of teen pregnancy. She argues that the Web site only has links to pro- choice Web sites. She argues that MTV is doing a poor job to promote all aspects of pregnancy.

"This apparently means the pro-life perspective will simply get tackled," Stanek wrote.
Durham has been using social networks to offer her opinion on the issue. This is an excerpt from the New York Post from Durham.

"It was only an embryo, not a baby not a fetus when I was pregnant," she wrote online. "So that's what I believe now and I know one day God will give me that embryo that turns into a baby back to me once we're more better :)"

DMX Moved to Mental Health Unit at Arizona State Prison

According to a report from Phoenix News, rapper DMX has been moved to the mental health unit at an Arizona State Prison called Alhambra.

According to the report, it is believed that the rapper may be suffering from bi-polar disorder. The topic of DMX's mental state has always been a sensitive subject. His manager actually refused to make an official statement about the rappers move to the mental health unit but did admit that she was not surprised at the move.

In the past, DMX himself actually wouldn't answer questions about his mental state. An incident in the past made it clear that discussing the rapper's mental state was off limits.

In 2001, the rapper threatened to beat up a reporter, who asked about his mental state during an interview for Blender Magazine. X threatened to beat the reporter up for asking about it, "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too personal," DMX said about the question.

According to the report from Phoenix News, "DMX was sentenced to a year in jail (minus 113 days served) on December 16, after he pleaded guilty to violating the terms of his probation. At his sentencing, Judge Christine Mulleneaux told him she believes he has “an undiagnosed mental condition,” possibly bi-polar disorder."

Lil Duval Tweets to Teena Marie "Hey are u dead?"

Just when you think nothing bad can really happen on Twitter, Lil Duval proves you wrong. The comedian is known for his antics on Twitter and his followers look to him for a good laugh on Twitter. However, last night when Twitter was ablaze with questioning Tweets demanding to know what happened to the "Ivory Queen of Soul," Lil Duval took to Twitter and tweeted the already deceased Teena Marie, "Hey are you dead?"


Immediately following Duval's tasteless tweet were trending topics demanding that members of Twitter stop following Lil Duval.

According to a report from AOL's Black Voices, Duval's attempts to defend himself was met with anger from his former followers.

"The backlash was fast and furious from Twitter and an #unfollowlilduval campaign ensued. Duval tried to defend his tasteless antics but to no avail."

Oprah Winfrey and Mammee Dolls

According to reports from AOL's Black Voices, a store in Australia had to prepare for the daytime TV star and her 300 member entourage. Oprah's entourage consisted of lucky viewers accompanying her on her visit to Australia. A store in Melbourne called Dafel Dolls and Bear Shop was said to be selling dolls that promoted the negative stereotypes of black women, specifically a Mamee Doll. The producers of Oprah's show asked that the dolls be removed from the shelves while Oprah and her guests where in the store. The store agreed.

Mamee is not the traditional spelling traditionally associated with the offensive term. The normal spelling is mammy. TheFreedictionary.com defines mammy as:

1. Mother.

2. Offensive A Black nursemaid, especially one formerly in the southern United States.

The physical traits of mammy often portrays black women as servants and nurses. Generally speaking they are never seen in an attractive light. They always have on red lipstick and a headscarf that hides their hair. The stigmas associated with mammy lend a hand to many of insecurities women of color have about complexion, weight and hair texture. Mammy was a mainstream figure that blatantly placed black women in an undesirable light.

The lingering question in most minds however, is why would Oprah even visit a store that sells something so disrespectful to women? It is hard to say. However, her star power is undeniable. She had the store which was bold enough to sell something so offensive take their merchandise down. According to the report the dolls actually sell.

An Australian store was forced to remove seemingly racist dolls called "Mamee Dolls" to prepare for a visit from Oprah Winfrey.

As previously reported, Winfrey and her audience on an eight-day Aussie adventure as part of her 'Favorite Things' segment give-away.

According to the Herald Sun, the talk show mogul and her 300 guests were scheduled to visit The Dafel Dolls And Bear Shop in Melbourne when her producers requested that the store's "Mamee" dolls be removed from the shelves.

The Mamee dolls show a dark skinned African-American woman with red lipstick, wearing a maid costume and a scarf around her head.

The store owner reportedly obliged and the dolls were removed.
